Cookies for the Rockin' City Rollergirls

Now that all the girls have had a chance to see them, here is the rest of the Roller Derby set for the Rockin' City Rollergirls here in Round Rock, TX. Check out their website:http://www.rockincityrollergirls.com/, or facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/rockincityrollergirls... these girls are so much fun, and kinda scary at the same time. I am so excited they enjoyed their cookies because I really enjoyed making them, so much so that I got a little carried away with how many I did... but I don't think they minded much ;)

Rylee's 8th Birthday

I got an email from a friend of a friend asking if I could do some cookies for her daughter's birthday party. Her colors were Pink and Green and she wanted music, guitars, and zebra stripes. She mentioned Justin Beiber but I didn't really want to go there. My original idea was a zebra striped music note but I looked everywhere for a music note cookie cutter and somehow everyone in town was sold out. It was getting down to the wire so I had to do a last minute substitution. I sat down with my sketchbook to figure out what I was going to do and these came out almost exactly like my sketch. I had the privilege of delivering these to them today and Rylee was soooo excited. Their whole house was zebra, cheetah, tiger... you name an animal print and they probably had it, so these fit in great. I know I did more than the mom asked for but I really wanted to make something fun for the girls and I couldn't resist (plus they make a great pic for the blog, don't you think?).
(This pic is from Rylee's mom. I love the zebra platter! Maybe I need to get one of those, it makes the whole theme way more fun :)

DJ Birthday Cookies

This was just a quick order for one of my coworkers who requested a small set of cookies for a friend that is a DJ. He and his wife are on a diet so she didn't want anything big but gave me liberty to make them fun. This is what I came up with... The records are dark chocolate and the stars and "turn table" are vanilla bean. I love the way the black food marker showed up on the coco icing. Hopefully her friend will enjoy them and not worry about the diet for a few bites at least.
(sorry for the color on the photo, it was taken at night)

You spin me right round baby, right round...

A co-worker of mine issued me the challenge of doing vinyl records to give her husband for his birthday. He is a music consultant and the "K-one" is his business name. Since he doesn't have an official logo yet I was allowed to be creative. I was a little worried that these were going to look like tires when I got them done but they are really cute and I think they read quite well. I used a straw to poke the little hole in the center and the "vinyl" part of the record is dark-coco royal icing.... all the yum without the black mouth :)
His birthday is Friday so I'll let you know how he liked them...
Stay tuned for more, I've got a bunch to decorate tonight and maybe tomorrow so this is gonna be a busy week :)
