Johnson Park in Marble Falls... Halloween charity sale
I had the wonderful opportunity to work with a group called Ride-On which does therapeutic horse training with vets with a group called A Place of Hope who give free medical care to vets who do not have insurance or can't afford treatment. I had so much fun working on these designs and actually doing Halloween cookies for change. If you're in the area (Marble Falls) and want to stop buy, come on down and take a look.

Cookies for the Rockin' City Rollergirls
Now that all the girls have had a chance to see them, here is the rest of the Roller Derby set for the Rockin' City Rollergirls here in Round Rock, TX. Check out their website:http://www.rockincityrollergirls.com/, or facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/rockincityrollergirls... these girls are so much fun, and kinda scary at the same time. I am so excited they enjoyed their cookies because I really enjoyed making them, so much so that I got a little carried away with how many I did... but I don't think they minded much ;)

Wedding favor ideas for a fall wedding
I've been working on my photo taking, what do you think? So my sister-in-law has a friend that is getting married in November. Her save the date cards were of the couple sitting in a movie theater watching a movie with the caption, "the best show is yet to come." Although she asked for fall leaves because of the season of the wedding, we thought we'd give them an alternate option that reflected their fun personalities and relate to their early announcements. So the above is option #1 for them to consider. The image below is closer to what they asked for, something clean and slightly modern that represents fall. I posted pictures of the fall leaves that I did for the Austin Bakes for Bastrop sale... this is why those were included for the bake sale. I really wanted to do a sample of these to send and to try out the new recipe for Brown Sugar Spice with Maple icing. The feedback from the sale was great so I feel like this could be an awesome addition to my fall line-up of flavors. This is also a preview of my new labels :)

Bake sale preview... round 1
Last night I finished 18 Texas flags, 12 stacked sunflowers, and about 4 dozen Texas cookie "bites." Tonight is going to be fall leaves, something new :) I'm getting excited about dropping these off on Saturday, I hope it turns out to be a great sale. If you're interested in attending the sale, check out http://austinbakes.wordpress.com/ or their twitter page @austinbakes.

First ever cookie class
First Cookie Class • All in one Bake Shop, Austin TX
9am began my adventure into an unknown realm of sweet treats. I'd always wanted to do something creative that I could eat and cookies seemed to be the perfect solution. My previous attempts at sugar cookies always seemed to fall flat... ever cut a cookie and it looks perfect going into the oven but turns into a giant unrecognizable blob when it comes out? That was the only experience I had with sugar cookies. Just being able to roll something out and have it come out of the oven exactly as it went in has been worth it's weight in powdered sugar. We got started and dove right into the decorating, I learned thinks like flooding, outlining, dragging, crazy star and leaf tips, color mixing... I was surprised at how easy it all seemed (but isn't everything easy when it's all laid out for you before hand). The class was super fun and I think everyone was pretty impressed at the way they came out for a first attempt, half of them didn't even make it home with all the hungry people willing to "test" them for me :)
