Birthday surprise for a true "Gamer Chick"

Monster Mash has gone teen... Welcome to Monster High

I've secretly liked these characters since the first time I saw them, there is just something fun about imagining what happened to all those monsters after the cameras turned off... they all got busy and made some kids :) For those that don't know Monster High, they are high school characters inspired by popular monster "parents" and they keep coming out with more. This set was for a very special girl so I wanted to make them as awesome as I could. The characters are Clawdean, Frankie Stein, and Draculaura. These were all hand painted and matched her theme perfectly.

Dishonored launch party

These are for the Dishonored launch party tonight. The game was done by Arkane Studios and Bethesda. The game looks great, check out their website here (http://www.dishonored.com/). The blood splatters were especially fun to try and recreate along with the tattoo the main character wears on his wrist as well as the mark of the plague (the red "x"). The game looks awesome and I felt honored to be included on such a special night for Arkane Studios here in Austin, TX.

Surprise birthday cookies... theme? Video games!

This was an order I couldn't pass up. These were for a coworker of my husband who wanted to surprise her boyfriend with some retro video game themed cookies. We did some sneaky conversation starters and found out his favorite games growing up were the NES gold copy of The Legend of Zelda, and Super Metroid for SNES. I think I went a little crazy on the small cookies but I just couldn't stop... Of course you see the Zelda and Metroid ones but there is also Mario question block,  one-up and growth mushrooms, invincible star, Pac Man (with food), Portal, Kid Icarus, Mega Man, NES controller, SNES controller, and the large "stars" are his age with his gamer tag :)

She brought them to him at work and they were a huge hit. I had so many ideas that I couldn't do. I think there is going to be a sequel to this set ;)

Arkane Studios

Arkane Studios is a local gaming company here in Austin, TX. They are a small company (so far) so one of their wives, who work with my husband, asked if I could make some cookies in their company colors to take with them to the party. The only thing she asked for was a large rectangle that had the company name and logo on it, the rest was up to me as long as there were at least 2 dozen cookies.  These made me really want a kopykake :) I was told that they all really loved them so it was worth all the hand drawing. The flavors were simple but it looked really cool with the vanilla and chocolate cookies all laid out on a platter with such a graphic style cookies.

Bake sale preview... round 1

Last night I finished 18 Texas flags, 12 stacked sunflowers, and about 4 dozen Texas cookie "bites." Tonight is going to be fall leaves, something new :) I'm getting excited about dropping these off on Saturday, I hope it turns out to be a great sale.
