It's a beautiful day in the Neighborhood... and perfect for a birthday

Has anyone else heard of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood? It the coolest thing, they took the puppet kingdom that Mr. Rogers used to visit and made it into a kids cartoon. I got to see an episode today and it was super cute... the things you learn while decorating cookies 

So when my friend called and wanted Daniel Tiger themed cookies for her darling little girl, Reagan's first birthday I jumped on Google and started looking it up. These were fun and colorful and the look on her face when she took her first "lick" of Daniel Tiger was worth all the sugar in the world 

Hartley's First Birthday... Tutus and Ties

I want a purple hedgehog...

Whew! It's been a very busy week and these were so much fun to make, and so girly too. Happy Birthday to Ms. Finn, who turned one on Tuesday and is having a petting zoo themed party this weekend. Her mom's favorite color is purple so since Finley can't talk yet, purple it is. I can't express how happy I am in the way these came out. I just bought a few new fancy icing tips and I can really tell a difference. I can't wait to see how the kids like them... maybe we'll give the hedgehogs one to share ;)

Moose and Zee... Cookie Time

These are for a friend's little boy who turns one this weekend. Moose and Zee are characters on Nick Jr and they are his favorite right now :) These are my first "character" cookies and they were all done freehand. If I had any concerns about them looking like the characters, the first thing my son said this morning was, "look Mommie, you made Moose and Zee cookies... can I have one?" Fears quenched. The mom was very happy with them and I can wait to hear how the birthday boy liked them. There are a few more pics here.

O is for Ollie

The Weisbrods have always been super supportive of my new hobby so when they asked me to make some cookies for little Oliver's 1st birthday I was very willing. What started out as a simple request slowly transformed into something I wasn't quite sure I could pull off... but I did :)

Mookie decided that instead of plain #1 cookies like we previously discussed, I needed to be "challenged" more and that I should make a series of cookies of things that start with the letter "O" like Ollie. All their decorations were going to be orange and Tiffany made the cutest owl cake to go along with the theme. We packaged these up for everyone to take home with them, an "O" cookie on the front and we made a letter "O" and a number "1" cookie that we tinted orange and flavored with orange zest to go along with it. I am super proud of these, everyone thought I was crazy but they were sooooo worth the time. See more pics here :)
