All the world loves a clown (cookie)

These were a quick job for me. I was asked very nicely to do up birthday cookies for a friend's sister who LOVES clowns. Since people either love or hate clowns, I wanted to make sure these were as friendly as I could possibly make them. These came out exactly the way I sketched them. I love the colors and texture of the hair.

I found out after telling my friend about the face idea that she loved it BUT her sister loved clown hats for some reason. This one was just for her, 3 silly clown hats on one cookie :) I can't wait to hear how they go over.

It's a Boy... Hawaiian style

I got a last minute call to do some baby shower cookies to welcome a new little boy into the world. The shower was going to be held at a hawaiian themed restaurant here in town so the customer wanted the cookies to try and reflect that theme. I never thought of boys and hawaiian... most of the time they are pretty girly. I loved the idea of doing hawaiian shirt styled onesies but that wasn't enough... then I remembered seeing images of guys wearing these great leis made of leaves. I took out my tiny leaf tip and started playing. These came out too stinkin' cute for words. I really like the way the leis came out and I totally think it pulled the theme off while keeping it very much "boy" themed.

Baby Shower... Babies?

So I wanted to make some bite sized cookies for a baby shower we were having at my office. I saw something similar to these online (I'm sorry but I cannot remember where I saw them). Whoever it was made a pile of tiny faces and they were very cute. I wanted to make mine a little bigger than hers and I loved the idea of giving them rosy cheeks. Coming up with the expressions was fun, can you find the ones making a poopy face? Since they were having a boy and I ran out of flesh colored icing, I decided to compliment them with some nice denim colored cookies as well and once I saw them all together I was really happy to have that little bit of color on the plate.
