Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair...

The second set of princess cookies for this week was for Rapunzel favors. I had an idea in my head of her hair acting as a border and overall I love the look and effect these had. I wanted to play more with using the icing for texture and they were really fun to do. I think I watched Tangled on loop about 4 times while decorating these to keep me in the mood (and awake)... but I still love the movie and these cookies.

Pink Princess Party

Somehow I hadn't done any Disney Princesses yet and then got 2 for the same weekend... This was my first set for a young fan of my page. She was having a small birthday party and asked each of her friends who their favorite princesses were. We did one for each of her friends (Belle, Ariel, Mulan, Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Jasmine, and Snow White) along with some fun crowns. She knew I had done some rootbeer flavored cookies for the Wizard101 guys (where her dad also works) so we threw in some rootbeer flavored hearts to try out too :) I was concerned as to how I was going to get all these different princesses to look like a complete set and I found this great illustration on deviant art and used it for my inspiration. They came out super cute and my young fan was super excited to hand them out to all her friends.

What is the ultimate answer?

The ultimate answer is 42.

I haven't thought about Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in quite a few years. I remember reading the books about the time the movie came out and LOVING it but then it kinda went away. I was super excited when I was approached to make these cookies for a young woman's 42nd birthday... how fun is that? There are so many great lines and moment from this series it was hard to choose but I think we came up with a good assortment of quotes that sum up the themes pretty well, and a few "42's" thrown in there for fun.

Happy New Year... Cape Cod style

I friend asked me to make some New Years cookies to send her family who lives in Cape Cod. I was given freedom to do anything I wanted so I challenged myself to do something in all white to go with the orange gingerbread flavor. This set was a lot of fun and even though there wasn't any color I really liked all the texture and detail I got. The seagulls were my favorite :)
