All the world loves a clown (cookie)

These were a quick job for me. I was asked very nicely to do up birthday cookies for a friend's sister who LOVES clowns. Since people either love or hate clowns, I wanted to make sure these were as friendly as I could possibly make them. These came out exactly the way I sketched them. I love the colors and texture of the hair.

I found out after telling my friend about the face idea that she loved it BUT her sister loved clown hats for some reason. This one was just for her, 3 silly clown hats on one cookie :) I can't wait to hear how they go over.

It's-a me.... Mario!

These were just a quick set done for a little boy's 4th birthday. His dad just introduced him to Super Mario Brothers and he immediately fell in love so they decided to throw him a Super Mario Brother's them birthday party. His dad asked if I could make a set of cookies just for him (although I'm sure he shared with Mom and Dad).

Settlers of Catan... the cookie???

Birthday Doodles for Wizard101 Artist...

Happy Birthday to the King of the Grill

My father has been one of my biggest supporters of this crazy cookie adventure I've been on the past year so I wanted to try something kinda strange when it came to his birthday cookies. He has a big love of bbq sauces, Sonny's Sweet BBQ Sauce is his biggest prize. Being from Texas, land of BBQ, I had to challenge myself. These were made with just a hint of bbq sauce added to the cookie dough :) We did a quick taster with different flavors and settled on cinnamon for the icing (next time I may try root beer). It really helped cut thru the smoke in the bbq sauce and enhance the the flavors. The sauce splats are Red Velvet emulsion, one of my new favorite flavorings.

(P.S. The polo shirts with the sauce stain is a joke with my dad.  Every time he cooks, something gets on his shirt.)

I also had to throw in another set of regular vanilla Father's Day cookies... Father's Day and Birthday, on the same weekend, what was I to do.

Little Man Cookies, take 2

This time with more colors, and a few more patterns ;)

Happy Father's Day

I got an email from the mom I did the "Little Man" cookies for asking if I could do some gluten free Father's Day cookies for her husband. She was open to anything I wanted to do as long as it was "Dad" themed. I've always wanted to try text heavy cookies so I figured this would be a good one to try them on. I found these great printable tags that I modified and mixed and matched till I got what I wanted. I knew that I wanted to try my new word burst cookie cutter so I looked up different ways to say "Father" in different languages (there were a few more that didn't make it in the pic).  I think the colors came out great and the dad ended up liking them a lot too :)

Ka-Chow! Car's cookies for Ollie

You may remember that I did cookies for Ollie's 1st Birthday last year, they were the first birthday cookies with all the images of things that started with the letter "O," if you forgot you can see them here. Well this year the bar was raised. They asked for Cars theme cookies, more specifically... Lightening McQueen, Mater, and Sally. Williams Sonoma had these great Cars cookies cutters, but no Sally. I decided to modify Finn and give him a gender switch, I think she came out pretty cute. It's har to tell but Lightening is actually a red velvet flavored cookie, I loved the bright red color it made the dough. These were involved, I'm not going to say I'd be willing to do them everyday... but these were fun :)

Surprise birthday cookies... theme? Video games!

This was an order I couldn't pass up. These were for a coworker of my husband who wanted to surprise her boyfriend with some retro video game themed cookies. We did some sneaky conversation starters and found out his favorite games growing up were the NES gold copy of The Legend of Zelda, and Super Metroid for SNES. I think I went a little crazy on the small cookies but I just couldn't stop... Of course you see the Zelda and Metroid ones but there is also Mario question block,  one-up and growth mushrooms, invincible star, Pac Man (with food), Portal, Kid Icarus, Mega Man, NES controller, SNES controller, and the large "stars" are his age with his gamer tag :)

She brought them to him at work and they were a huge hit. I had so many ideas that I couldn't do. I think there is going to be a sequel to this set ;)

This was the first bite, I love this pic... it makes me happy :)

Reagan is coming... baby shower cookies

I am so excited about our friend's Danny and Alissa are about to be the proud parents of a baby girl. They are the best people and my husband and I could not be happier for them, they are like family. Her mom called and asked if I could help with the shower and of course I was more than happy to help out :)

The theme was animals and polka dots. I have a set of vintage circus animals that I love to use whenever I can. I tried to match the large dot pastel sprinkles by Wilton since we were using them in other deserts, next time I'll rethink the yellow... the dots were a little hard to see when wet :) Each person got to take home a "R" onesie and some of the baby shower themed bites (and maybe some chocolate to fill out the bag).
